Immediate requirement for an intermediate to Senior level Project Manager to join one of the world’s leading construction and property consultancies. Due to recent business wins as well as an impressive range of existing projects, an opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Project Manager to join the successful team in the Edinburgh office. You will work on a variety of exciting new build projects across different sectors including education, retail, mixed-use developments and industrial.

There is considerable scope for the successful candidate to progress quickly to the next level of their career, whether that be intermediate looking to become Senior or Senior looking to become Associate.

Your key responsibilities will include

  • Managing design teams in the development of design solutions
  • Undertaking contract administration
  • Development of project documentation, programmes, master budget etc
  • Producing reports to suit relevant stages of projects
  • Delivering projects with the framework of risk, sustainability and environmental considerations agreed at the business case/client brief stage whilst maintaining focus on time, cost and quality
  • Monitoring and reporting on contractors’ progress against the contract programme
  • Managing consultant teams to ensure the contractor’s design is carried out in compliance with the contract

The candidate:

  • Successful background in Consultancy Project Management
  • Ideally a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or equivalent recognised

institutional body.

  • Experienced in the delivery of small, medium and large value projects, both new build and refurb, in the property and construction sectors
  • Flexibility to travel around Edinburgh and the Central Belt
  • Sound knowledge and insight of construction industry technical matters, such as the different procurement routes and contract forms
  • Experience of stakeholder management
  • Financial management of projects
  • Technical understanding of project elements, land, leases, construction, pre-contract and post-contract matters
  • Ability to lead and work in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong communication skills, ability to communicate effectively at all levels effectively through high quality oral and written communications
  • Client facing skills – experience of working with clients at a strategic/operational level and managing change effectively
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Effective problem resolution skills
  • Teamwork skills – ability to work with others to achieve team and personal targets and objectives
